We’re in my apartment and I’ve been click clacking on this report for about an hour.
Lucky sits awkwardly on his phone, his sandals still on, twiddling his thumbs and glancing at me when he thinks I’m not looking.
“There’s probably a clean dish in one of the cabinets” I offer.
“I’m ok” he said.
Right.
The door knocks and my stomach drops.
Jalissa’s here and she’s out for blood.
She storms in, her fingers clinch her pristine nose.
“Jesus Christ Saera. Not even gonna try to spray something? Anything? How do you live like this.”
I glance up from my screen, “quite happily, before you got here.”
She rolls her eyes at me and turns to Lucky, who’s standing awkwardly waiting for a hug.
It’s painful to watch.
BEEEP.
“Saera no. how long does it take to change a battery. You’r so smart…”
I’m back at my laptop typing up the rest of the report.
I’ll let them figure it out.
“We all best, ok” Lucky lets out.
More sage advice I’m sure.
Digging through Sam’s old emails is such a drag.
“HELLO” Jalissa says snapping her fingers at me. “Are you listening to me? We need to take Lucky out, he’s hungry”
“No.. its” Lucky starts.
I really don’t have time for this.
I smile at them and nod my head, then return to work.
The slam of my door stirs me out of my trance, I look up and notice they’re both gone.
Awww, darn.
